This is a personal website of father and son, Brian and Thomas who live in Wigan which is a town in the north-west of England, UK.

The sole purpose of the site is to record our experiences in writing and photographs of our walks along numerous canals.

Why canals? We enjoy walking and canals make ideal venues. They are mostly flat, away from traffic and there is a lot to see and do along the way. A while ago we decided to have a go at the Leeds Liverpool Canal which is 127 miles long. I'm pleased to say we completed the walk and created a website of our adventure. This website is a continuation of our walks and has a generic name as we hope to walk lots more canals in the future. To view our first walk, visit www.leedsliverpoolcanal.co.uk.

This website was created in April 2009, shortly after our first walk this year along the Bridgewater Canal.

As time goes on, we hope to add lots more content and photos. Keep up to date by visiting the blog which will contain the latest news and updates.

At site launch I am 40 years old and my son is 13. Other things do take up our time so don't expect walks to be added every week!
