Lancaster to Tewitfield
Much later than anticipated, we've completed our walk along the Lancaster Canal.

We had a great day, one of the best walks yet.

You can view the photos and read about the latest walk, feel free to leave a comment against any of the photos.

Time flies!
Can't believe it's been almost a year since I last updated.

Since our last walk, my son who is now 16 has discovered girlfriends. I've gone self-employed and work too much.

We've had a natter and have decided to put on our walking shoes again, we're going to complete the Lancaster Canal soon.

We're planning more walks very soon.

Our next walks will be from Garstang to Lancaster (13 miles) then from Lancaster to Borwick (12 miles).

Watch this space!

Support Diane
Raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, a worthwhile cause.

In Diane's words: "Starting from Alder Hey, Liverpool and finishing in Leeds St James’s taking a route along the oldest and longest canal in the north. I will walk with my dog Bessie and play my ukulele all 127 miles of it. I will walk in three stages in May and June. I would like to raise as much money as I can to help young people living with cancer find their strengths and talents through music and outdoor activities."

Please show your support, visit Diane's website.

Stockton Heath to Runcorn
Our latest walk from Stockton Heath to Runcorn has been published. Another enjoyable walk which completes our jaunt along the Bridgewater Canal.

Any suggestions for the next canal? The Macclesfield, Huddersfield, Lancaster, Rochdale? There are lots to go at. ;)

Altrincham to Stockton Heath
3 weeks in and 3 walks along the Bridgewater Canal. Our latest walk from Altrincham to Stockton Heath was very enjoyable, much different from the walk last week.

You can view the photos and read about the latest walk, feel free to leave a comment against any of the photos.

We won't be walking next weekend as we have been kindly invited for a cruise on a narrow boat along the Leeds Liverpool Canal. It will be good to see it from a boater's perspective.

Welcome
Welcome to another brand spanking new website of ours!

This website is a personal journal of father and son, Brian and Thomas who live in Wigan. It will be used to document our walks along canals in the UK.

We recently completed the 127 mile Leeds Liverpool Canal and decided to walk more canals, hence this new site.

We chose a generic name because we hope to walk many canals and write about them all in one place.

Our first walk for this website is the Bridgewater Canal as its quite local for us. Wherever possible, we use public transport to get around.

We hope you enjoy your visit.
