Not a lot of people know that...... One side of the Bridge it's the Leeds Liverpool Canal (Leigh Branch), the other side is The privately owned Bridgewater Canal (Leigh Branch).
Yes it's 2 different canals which were joined up end to end! Also note the old stones on the underside of the bridge. This is the original bridge, the new one was built over it. |
